Colleen Libbey grew up in Ketchikan, Alaska. She attended the University of Idaho and Wayland Baptist University. Before heading to law school she married her now law partner, Dan Libbey. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law, where she graduated With Honors and served as Editor in Chief of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. Following law school, Colleen clerked for the Anchorage Superior Court and later worked at a local law firm practicing insurance defense. During her initial time in private practice, she realized she wanted to transition from insurance defense to personal injury claimant work so she could help those being wronged by the abusive practices of the insurance industry. To accomplish her goal of helping those disadvantaged, she joined Libbey Law Offices, LLC.

Colleen’s practice is focused on serving personal injury clients, and she is dedicated to educating herself and others regarding the ever-changing legal landscape of personal injury practice. For many years she has been an active participant in the Alaska Association for Justice (formerly the Alaska Trial Lawyers) and served as its Education Committee Chair and Vice President from 2016-2018. She served as the President of the Alaska Association for Justice from 2018-2020 and currently serves as a Board Member. Colleen has served as adjunct faculty at Wayland Baptist University teaching various legal courses and is currently a member of the Alaska Civil Rules Committee. She is a graduate of the esteemed Trial Lawyers College. When she is not enjoying practicing law, Colleen enjoys yoga, skiing, reading, and otherwise spending time with her family. She also enjoys participating in fitness fundraising activities with her husband and children.

Colleen is licensed to practice in Alaska and Washington.  She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Alaska, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
